The Lyft Blog is the central artery for all Lyft news and updates, however visitors had no way to navigate to find the content that most interested them.
Our challenge was to build in navigable category and city pages to make content more discoverable. By adding filtering to the blog homepage, we allowed Lyft’s marketing team to increase their post frequency and to write more locally relevant content. Finally, we wanted to increase on-site traffic by surfacing more relevant posts to visitors based on tag and category data.
After creating a sitemap, we began exploring different content modules and display patterns that could be reused across the design system. In the end, our team of three designed the homepage, category pages, a cities umbrella page, city-specific pages, individual post pages, site navigation, and search functionality.
